Maccabi Moldova with its captain - 52-year-old Jacob Ackerman, Chairman of Maccabi Moldova,  represented Israel at the annual football tournament of diplomats in Kishinev and won the 1^st place.

Valery Kuzmin, the Ambassador of Russia to Moldova, opened the event.
Another three ambassadors (Great Britain, Russia and the EU) were also present.

The first unsuccessful rival of Maccabi was the combined team of USA and Germany. It was defeated by the Consular Mission of Israel with a score of 9:2.  The next competition took place between the strongest teams. The team of the Russian Embassy showed excellent skills: they emotionally and strongly fought for the victory. But in the semi-finals, Maccabi was stronger and won - 4:2 with a beautiful goal scored by Jacob Ackerman - head in the fall!

The finalists were teams of Israel and the UK. By the end of the day the players were tired, the fight was hard and tense. Since there were no goals, the judge appointed a penalty. The decisive goal was scored by Jacob Ackerman and it brought Maccabi victory!

Winners were presented with the cup by Russia's Ambassador Valery Kuzmin, captain of the team that won the 3rd place. The Head of Israel's Consular Representation Stas Nezhinskii was very happy: he personally scored two goals in the gate of the opponents. The youth of the Israeli Cultural Center and the Consular offices supported Stas with flags and streamers. And it was not in vain!

The head of the Association of Israeli businessmen "Darkon" Anatoly Leibovich, invited the winning team to the restaurant "Alaverdi" to celebrate the victory. The charity fund «DOR le DOR» (Founder of  Maccabi Moldova ) took part in the celebrations as well. Hooray, Maccabi first victory in this tournament!
